CNAM (Calling NAMe) An Intelligent Network service that displays the caller’s name on the calling party’s digital caller ID. This is similar to caller ID except that the calling party’s name is displayed along with the calling number or instead of the calling number. See caller ID.
How to activate CNAM?
Most of US providers keep caller ID enabled by default on their DIDs. However; that is not always the case with CNAM, there is normally an additional cost involve for enabling CNAM depending on the vendor.
Customer would need request to activate CNAM on selected number. Activating CNAM may take upto a month as it needs to be updated on data base.
